| 2011-09-02 :: Dog Clean Up |
|
| Please remember that the primary dog walking area for the Villas is on the wood chips along the western fence, parallel to the train tracks. Please do not walk your dog(s) in the grassy common areas in front of other residents' units as urine from the dogs causes damage to the grass. Furthermore, failure to pick up your pet's waste is a violation of The Villas Rules & Regs. Owners that are reported to management or the Board for not picking up after their dog(s) will be heavily fined. Also, for everyone's safety, please remember that pets need to be leashed AT ALL TIMES. |

| 2011-06-07 :: Window Washing - June 15/16 |
|
Would you like your windows washed? On behalf of the community, The Board has again secured a rate of $30 with Service Building Maintenance Inc. (SBM), to wash all of the exterior window glass on your unit. Alternatively, for $60, you can have both the insides & outsides of your windows washed. All interested homeowners should contact SBM directly at: 630-530-5272.
Note: Since the screens that cover your windows can only be removed from the inside, it will be your responsibility to have them removed prior to SBM's arrival, or you risk not having your windows cleaned. Also, if you are having the insides cleaned as well, please remember to make sure that the areas in front of your windows are clear so the workmen have easy access.
As a reminder, window washing is a homeowner expense, and is not subsidized by the Association. Payment is due [COD] immediately upon completion of the cleaning. SBM will accept cash or check. If you are only having exteriors washed, and you will not be home during the time of the cleaning, SBM would like you to make sure that you leave an envelope with the payment taped to your front door. Note: in the event that you have to leave the payment on your door, it is advised that you leave a check, not cash.
If you are interested in participating, please contact SBM immediately for an appointment. SBM will attempt to clean all units on June 15 & 16.

| On June 1st, 3 residents were elected to the Board -- Jacob Rosenfeld (486) was re-elected and will serve as President, Bill Erhart (504) was elected and will serve as Treasurer and Robert Bloom (508) was elected and will serve as Vice President. They join existing Vice President Stuart Cook (500) and Secretary Beth Levine (502). Welcome new Board members! |

| Please use *EXTREME* caution when driving through The Villas today! There is black ice all over the roadway which has already caused 2 serious accidents! Please proceed with extreme caution around both ends of the community, as well as the entry and exit ramps leading in from/out to Robert York Ave. The snow removal service has just salted down the entire property, but expect that it will remain slick. |

During the next few days, PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION when driving and/or walking around the property. The roadways are very slick at the moment, and the snow removal services are just beginning to start cleaning up. Again, if you must venture outside, please slow down and use extreme caution when driving.
A reminder to all those who have their car(s) parked on South Commons Court:
Please begin digging your vehicle out immediately, once the snow removal services have begun. While sometimes they make an attempt to
knock on homeowners’ doors if your vehicle is in their way, it most likely will not be possible under these circumstances. If you decide not to move your vehicle, it will be at risk of being towed at your expense. Additionally, if the Association is charged for additional plow services due to the fact that your car prohibited the plows from completing its work, you may be invoiced for the cost of the follow-up plow. |

| 2010-12-16 :: Want "Salt?" |

| Are you experiencing ice build-up around your unit that occurs between snows/plows? If you would like the ability to throw down a little extra salt around your front door / garage, the Board of Directors has worked out a program with landscaper Rocco Fiore & Sons that might be of interest to you. For $20, Rocco Fiore will deliver a 40lb. bucket of ice melt material right to your door. The material is comparable to "Safe Step", is more pet friendly than traditional salt, and works in colder temperatures. Additionally the bucket includes a scoop inside to make spreading the ice melter a little easier. If you are interested in purchasing a bucket, please contact Rocco Fiore at (847) 680-1207. Mention that you live in the Villas of South Commons, and would be interested in purchasing a "salt bucket." All orders will be delivered on Friday, December 24. |

Reminder: The sealcoating phase 2 (the "out lane"/ East side of the street + all of the East Alleys) will begin tomorrow at 1:00PM, weather permitting. If you need to have access to your car (while the streets/alleys are roped off), and your street address ends in an odd number, please make sure that you move it out of the garage and park it on the street -- Robert York Ave. or The Villas "In" lane.
The final phase which includes sealcoating the rear Western alley should take place on Wednesday, June 9, weather permitting. If you need to have access to your car (while the alley is roped off), and your street address ends in an even number, please make sure that you move it out of the garage and park it on the street -- Robert York Ave. or South Commons Court. |

| 2010-03-21 :: Amended Rules/Regs Passed |
|
| At the last public meeting, the Directors passed the amended Rules & Regulations for the Villas of South Commons. In effort to make our community a better place to live, the new Rules & Regs address several matters that have continually surfaced within the community. Issues having to do with garbage, leasing, lights, parking, dogs, and "for sale" signage (among others) have now been more clearly defined. In turn, a new fine structure is in place for those residents that choose to ignore the Rules. Please take some time to familiarize yourselves with the new document. The new Amended Rules have been posted at the bottom of the Community Documents page for your review, and will be incorporated into the overall Declaration (PDF) document shortly. |
