The Board of Directors is comprised of five positions. [Currently only four of these positions are filled.] Membership is open to all homeowners. Services are provided strictly on a volunteer basis. Elections take place once each year at the annual meeting which is typically held in late May, early June. Voting is accomplished currently, either in person or through written proxy. We hope to offer online proxy voting in the near future.

Once the positions are filled at the annual meeting, board members elect officers to serve in various capacities. Each individual serves a two year term, but terms are staggered so that all board members are not replaced at the same time. This ensures continuity and stability on the Board. Depending on the year, either two or three positions will become available.

The mission of the Board is to manage and maintain the community on behalf of all homeowners in order to maximize everyone's value. Central to this management mission is to uphold and enforce the By-Laws and the Rules & Regulations for The Villas of South Commons. The Board engages the services of a management company to assist it in its responsibility. Working under the auspices of the Board, the management company is responsible for helping to maintain and enhance the value of our community by working with board-selected providers. Factors that influence community value include general appearance, landscaping, lighting and safety.

The Board enthusiastically welcomes the participation of all interested homeowners. Serving on the Board of Directors presents you with the best opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the community.
